Eggbeater is out of beta on Android. The app is in the Google Play store today — no invitation, no sign-up form, no waiting to be let in. The scoring desk landed in two stores of its own at the same time: Google Play for Android tablets, and the Microsoft Store for Windows. All of it free.

For most of this year, following a game on an Android phone meant asking us for a link. The app was real and it worked, but it lived behind a closed test, which is a polite way of saying most people never got in. That is over. Search the Play Store for Eggbeater, tap Install, and you have the same app the iPhone side has been using all season.
What the Android app actually does
The same things the iPhone app does, because it is the same product, not a stripped-down port made to fill a gap:
- Live scores in about five seconds. Someone at the desk records a goal; it is on your phone before the teams have swum back.
- The whole bracket, not a picture of one. Pool standings, the draw, and My Path — the route your team takes if it wins and the route if it loses.
- Notifications when your team’s game starts, when the score changes, and when it is final.
- Ask the Desk — tap a question about the tournament and get the answer, in English, Spanish or French.
- Real stats, attributed to players as the game is scored, not typed up afterwards.
- Dark mode, system font sizes, and the whole app in three languages.
High school teams get one more thing, and it arrived in this release. While your season is inside a tournament, the Bracket tab stops showing league standings and becomes that event — your games, the full draw, your path, where you could finish, your day plan and the venues with directions. When the tournament ends, the tab hands itself back to the standings. Nothing to switch on.
It is free for spectators, the way it has always been. You do not need an account to follow a team.
The scoring desk is on Google Play too — for tablets
Eggbeater Desk is the app the scorer runs. It is a separate download from the spectator app, and it is now on Google Play as its own listing, free.
It asks for a tablet, and that is deliberate rather than a limitation we are hiding. The desk puts the clock, the scoring controls, the shot map and the play log on one screen at once, because a scorer in the middle of a quarter cannot be hunting through tabs. That layout needs a tablet-sized screen to be honest, so the Play listing only offers it to tablets. If you go looking for it on a phone, Play will tell you it is not compatible — that is the gate working, not a bug.
And on the Windows PC that is already on the table
Look at a scorer’s table at almost any pool and there is usually a laptop on it already, running the clock or doing nothing at all. Eggbeater Desk is in the Microsoft Store, free, so that machine can be the desk.
It is the same desk as the iPad and Mac versions: the console is the window, the shot map is marked like a real pool with numbered shooting zones, and the keyboard does the work — space for the clock, a letter for a goal, and every shortcut printed on the button it drives so nobody needs a cheat sheet taped to the table.
One engine, five places to run it. iPad, Mac, Windows, Android tablets and the phone all score a game the same way, because underneath they run the same scoring engine. A game can start on a phone in the stands and finish on the laptop at the table without either one losing track of what the other recorded.
Where each one lives
- Eggbeater for Android — phones and tablets, free: Google Play
- Eggbeater for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch — free: App Store
- Eggbeater Desk for Android tablets — free: Google Play
- Eggbeater Desk for Windows — free: Microsoft Store
- Eggbeater Desk for iPad and Mac — one record, free: App Store
And if you would rather not install anything at all, you never had to: app.eggbeater.app opens the same live scores in a browser, with no account.
Want the next one before everyone else?
Coming out of beta does not mean the beta is gone — it means it stopped being the only door. New features still land in a test build first, and anyone who wants them early can opt in on the beta page. It is one tap to join, one tap to leave, and the stable app is still what everybody else gets.
If something looks wrong in any of these — a score that will not update, a bracket that reads oddly, a stat attributed to the wrong player — tell us at hello@eggbeater.app. That address reaches the people who wrote it.
It is free, and it is finally everywhere your team already is.
Live scores in about five seconds, the full bracket, and a scoring desk that runs on the tablet or the laptop already sitting on the table.
