Verify · Beta
The play-by-play, checked against the film.
Verify is Eggbeater’s AI film review for coaches. It reads the cap number on each logged play from the camera’s own file and shows where the film and the scorer agree, and where they may not. It is a beta: your club opts in, it runs within a budget your club sets, and every result is labeled Beta.
- Beta
- Your club opts in
- A budget for each team
- Never changes a play
How it works
Three steps, on a computer or an iPad.
Verify lives in Film Review on the coach dashboard, beside each game’s film and its logged plays.
1. The camera’s file stays with you
Pick a scored game and the camera’s own video file. The file is read in your browser and never uploaded: only small crops around each play are sent to be read.
2. Line it up
Tell Verify where the opening sprint is on the film, and every logged play finds its moment.
3. The review
Verify finds the touches of the ball around each logged play and reads the cap number there. Results appear as it goes, and a review can stop and pick up later.
A review starts on a computer or an iPad, from the camera’s own file. The results show on any phone.
What you get
Every play, with a plain label.
Each read sits beside the play the scorer logged, with a button that plays the film from just before it.
The cap on the film reads clearly as the one the scorer logged.
The film agrees with the log, but not clearly enough to confirm it.
The film reads clearly as a different cap. A lead to check, not a verdict.
The film could not settle it: the cap could not be read, or the play is out of view.
A different number is a lead, not a ruling. Watch the play, and if the film is right, fix it in the scorer’s Edit plays. Verify never changes a play.
Who runs it
The club decides, the team’s budget sets the pace.
Verify runs only for clubs that opt in, and only within the budget each team is given.
Your club opts in
Verify is off for every club until the club asks Eggbeater to turn it on.
A budget for each team
The club admin sets a monthly Verify budget for each team, out of the club’s own.
Head coaches
Run reviews within the team’s budget, with no run count, and can ask the club admin for more.
Coaches and assistants
Get 5 runs a month, a run being one game however many sittings it takes, and can ask for more.
Every coach sees the results
Results stay open to every coach on the team, even when no new review can run.
Requests go to the club admin
The club admin grants a request from the club’s budget, or asks Eggbeater for more.
Club admins set the budgets and answer requests in the admin console, under Film review.

What a beta means here
- Verify is a beta. Every result is labeled Beta, and we make no claims about how often it reads a cap right.
- A different number is a lead, not a ruling. Watch the play, and if the film is right, fix it in the scorer’s Edit plays. Verify never changes a play.
- It reads the cap number on plays the scorer logged. It does not log plays or score a game.
- Verify is not sold on its own today. Budgets come from the club’s arrangement with Eggbeater; adding Verify to a plan is coming soon.
Questions
Questions about Verify
Does Verify change our stats?
No. Verify never changes a play. When the film shows a different cap, the coach or the club decides whether to fix the play in the scorer’s Edit plays.
How does a club turn it on?
Write to hello@eggbeater.app. Once Verify is on for the club, the club admin gives each team a monthly budget in the admin console, under Film review.
What do I need to run a review?
A game scored on Eggbeater, the camera’s own video file of that game, and a computer or an iPad with a current browser. The file stays on your device.
What happens when the team’s budget runs out?
No new review starts until the next month or until the club admin grants more. Every result already read stays open to the team’s coaches.
Ask about Verify for your club.
Verify is in beta with the clubs that opt in. Write to us to turn it on for yours, or open Film Review to see your team’s results.
