The field
Fifteen programs from across Northern California, drawn into four pools:
- Pool A — Oakdale, Justin-Siena, Clayton Valley, Washington
- Pool B — El Cerrito, Lick-Wilmerding, Liberty
- Pool C — Albany, Encinal, College Park, Terra Linda
- Pool D — Sonoma Valley, Alameda, Bishop O’Dowd, San Marin
Two decks, two days
Friday is pool play. San Leandro High hosts Pools A and B from 12:30 PM; Encinal hosts Pools C and D from 2:00 PM, with crossover games running into the evening — the last Friday game goes in the water at 7:50 PM.
Saturday decides it. Placement rounds start at 9:00 AM on both decks. The championship game is at 12:20 PM at Encinal, followed by the 3rd-, 5th- and 7th-place games through the early afternoon.
How to follow it
The tournament page — eggbeater.app/battle-by-the-bay-2026 — carries the full schedule, the four pool tables, the Saturday bracket and every score, refreshing about every five seconds while games are in the water. In the Eggbeater app, enter the code BATTLE. No account, no login, nothing to install if you’d rather use the page.
A scoreboard, not a broadcast. Eggbeater is scores, standings and brackets — the score, the clock, who you play next — updating about every 5 seconds. No cameras, nothing to set up on the deck. You follow the game; we don’t film it.
Where the scores come from
The host’s results flow onto the page as Encinal’s table posts them, and Alameda’s own games are scored play by play at the table on Eggbeater Desk. Either way it is one page: the same link for every spectator in the stands and every alum three time zones away.
Your school next
Encinal and Alameda both have their own pages on Eggbeater, live all season in the school’s colors. If your program isn’t on it yet, setting it up takes a few minutes and the first season is free.
