How they got here

How they’re seeded

The league seeds the tournament by each team’s record in league play, as printed on its bracket sheet.

  • Alameda comes in unbeaten in league play in both brackets (girls 5-0, boys 6-0): the #1 seed twice, with a bye into Thursday’s semifinals both times.
  • Girls: Bishop O'Dowd, Lick-Wilmerding and Castro Valley all finished 1-4 in league play. The league’s seeding puts them in that order; its tiebreak isn’t printed on the sheet.
  • Boys: Berkeley, Piedmont and Bishop O'Dowd all finished 4-2 in league play. The league’s seeding puts them in that order; its tiebreak isn’t printed on the sheet.
  • Piedmont is in the boys bracket only, which is why the boys draw has seven teams and the girls draw six.
