Why a TV app at all

Because that’s where people already gather. At a tournament, families crowd around one phone between sets; back at the hotel, everyone wants to see the next round’s draw without passing a screen hand to hand. A TV solves both. The phone stays the personal, in-your-pocket companion — with Live Activities on the lock screen — while the TV becomes the shared one.
