Pricing questions, answered honestly

Is Eggbeater really free for spectators?
Yes — the free Spectator tier is free forever. Parents and fans can follow live scores, schedules, brackets, and rosters at no cost. The optional $4.99/month Premium Spectator tier adds push notifications, multi-team following, calendar sync, and ad-free browsing.
Do you charge per seat or per player?
No. The Club tier is one flat rate per club regardless of how many teams, players, or volunteer scorers you have. Tournament Host is one flat rate per event regardless of how many teams attend.
What's the difference between Club League and Multi-Club League?
Club League ($99/season) lets a single club run an internal or rec league for its own teams — for example, a high-school program running a 6-team intra-club season. Multi-Club League ($249/season) lets one host club run a regional league with teams from multiple visiting clubs, and visiting clubs' spectators get the public spectator page free.
Is there a free trial?
Yes — the Club tier includes a 14-day free trial. No credit card required to start. Tournament Host and League tiers don't include trials because they're one-shot per-event/per-season purchases, but they're risk-light: if you've published the wrong thing you can archive the package and start over.
Can I host a tournament without a Club subscription?
Yes. Tournament Host is a standalone $199 per-event fee — pay for one weekend, run one event. The Club subscription includes Tournament Host features for clubs that run multiple events per year, so if you're hosting 2+ events in 12 months, the $199/year Club annual plan saves money.
How does billing work for leagues?
Both Club League and Multi-Club League are billed per season — one upfront fee for the entire season (regular season + playoffs + any placement brackets). No monthly billing for league tiers.
Do you offer discounts for non-profit clubs?
We don't have a formal non-profit discount because most water polo clubs are already non-profits — pricing the product affordably for them is baked in. If you're a school district, a multi-club governing body, or a large multi-region operation and the listed pricing doesn't fit, email hello@eggbeater.app and we'll work something out.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Public spectator pages stay live (so parents don't lose access to past game results), but your admin panel goes read-only and live scoring is disabled. You can resubscribe at any time to pick up where you left off. Tournament packages and league archives are kept permanently — they're tiny and we'd rather keep history intact than save a few cents on storage.
